About Us

SpeedMog
SpeedMog is a speed championship run by the Morgan Sports Car Club (MSCC) under the regulations of Motorsport UK (MSUK), the governing body for motorsport in the UK. The championship is open to all MSCC members.
The SpeedMog Championship is made up of a series of sprint and hillclimb events held at venues across the British Isles. At each event, cars run individually against the clock, with only one car on track at any one time.
The Championship
The 2026 season calendar features 25 events, including three double-header weekends. Competitors can enter as many or as few events as they like, with only their best six scores counting towards the championship.
A handicap scoring system is used to ensure fair competition across the field. Each car’s power is measured on a rolling road and weighed on certified scales. This allows any four-wheeled Morgan, in any state of tune, to be eligible and competitve. This is proven by recent championship winners spanning everything from a 1937 Series 1 and a standard +4 to a modified Roadster 3.7 V6.

Technical & Safety Requirements
The technical requirements are relatively simple. Competing cars must have a rollover hoop (unless built before 1958), a timing strut fitted to the front of the car and a driver’s head restraint.
Minimum driver safety equipment (to MSUK standards) includes a safety helmet, fireproof overalls and fireproof gloves
The rules are designed to give every competitor an equal chance of success—no matter what Morgan you drive.
What’s a Typical Event Like?
On a normal competition day, you’ll usually get 4–5 timed runs, spending only around five minutes on track in total. The rest of the day is enjoyed in the paddock, surrounded by Morgans and a wide variety of other competition cars. What better way to spend a day!
Because only one car runs at a time, you can even share your car with a partner, spouse, or sibling — there’s no better measure of your driving skills than someone sharing your car!
By the end of the day, you’ll be absolutely certain you could have gone faster… and with that thought, you are hooked!

New to Speed Events or Just Curious?
If you’ve ever had the urge to try your Morgan on track, the MSCC Techniques Taster Day at Curborough on 4th April is the perfect introduction. The day runs like a sprint event, but without timing, so there’s no pressure—just a relaxed opportunity to learn, drive, and enjoy yourself.
Not ready to compete yet? You’re very welcome to spectate at almost any SpeedMog event (with the exception of Hethel), and we can often arrange free entry. Come and find us in the paddock—but allow plenty of time, as we’re a friendly, enthusiastic, and very talkative bunch.
